Crossroads

Photograph taken from: http://vividlife.me/ultimate/6407/hitting-the-crossroads-in-life-making-the-transition/

We meet people in our daily lives, and it is never guaranteed that the people we meet and those we become friends with will forever be in our lives; but still we let them be part of our lives for the time being they are still in our lives and we are happy to have them as friends, and or family.

A friend of mine once said “we meet and part with people, so rather treasure every moment you have with them for you don’t know whether they are there to stay or just for a while”.

That made me think about all the people I have met and parted with along the way, some were worth it and some were rather painful and emotional. Appreciation goes a long way; it is just for us to acknowledge all the good we have.

How do you step down from the top of a 100-foot pole?

Photograph taken from: http://shokai.blogspot.com/2010/04/meanwhile-back-on-100-foot-pole.html

I am thinking to myself, if one has difficulty climbing down a 100 foot pole; how the hell did they get up there anyway?!

There are so many easy ways for people to get what they want at the time they want it; and it all gets down to the point of making good and bad decision for oneself.

When the tough gets going, there are only two ways I can think of to get yourself out a difficult situation. It’s either you slowly slide down the pole, or you just give up and hit rock bottom; which is not what I’d expect people to do because only a coward would give up without putting up a fight.

Bid For A Brighter Future

Photograph taken from: http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=3318942345149&set=a.1522331751007.64814.1615981906&type=3&theater

Always wondered why so many communities make so much progress, whereas in other parts of the country they seem to be in standstill? I’ve always had the same question myself until I saw what happens when communities stand together and share their ideas and voices for the right cause.

It all started as a dream that everybody had, with everyone living in their fantasy world about what they would like to see happening in their community and town. Then, it may have seemed like a dream that will never come true; but today the community of Colesberg is nearer to having their dream become a reality.

It only took the people of this community unity and one voice to their dream nearer to reality, and the leaders listening to them and being their voices to those superior in order for them to be heard.

When people stand together with the same values and sentiments, a lot is highly going to be achieved. It may take years for dreams to become reality, for they will bring about change that will benefit those against them.

We Are What We Do

You wake up in the morning and you don’t greet your neighbours when you see them, you keep starting fights with your colleagues at work and you are constantly aggressive towards the other drivers in traffic; but still you keep portraying yourself as the person you are not, you live a lie.

We wonder what we keep doing everyday that makes people see who we actually are, and what is it that makes them come to the conclusions they have come to about us as individuals.

We tend to live pretentious lives, because we want to impress the next person; not knowing there comes a time that these people will see the real deal of who we are. The schemes we do for the innocent people who did nothing wrong to us, truly show how greedy one is.

Many say “actions speak louder than words”, and it’s in this case where you find what you say always contradicts what you do. It would be wiser if people chose their words carefully before they spoke, but then again no one would know the right from wrong if that was the case.

The Book called LIFE

Photograph taken from: http://hrushikeshzadgaonkar.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/change-your-life-301.jpg

Everyday we wake up and venture into the journey of life, and whatever we do will forever be written in the book we write everyday; called LIFE. As we walk on we create memories, some we would like to forget and some we would like to live on them forever and those are the greatest moments.

We meet people from all walks of life, and some we part from knowing that they once featured in the pages we continue writing for as long as we are alive. We cherish times, moments and adventures we take with our loved ones; and we do our best to make each and every second of it count.

We are all writers and publishers of our own lives, what we want people to know about us we let them know; and it is the same people we give a chance to feature in our pages that give us meaningful thoughts and events to write about.

We Are Afraid Of The Wrong Things

Photograph taken from: http://www.greekshares.com/uploads/image/afraid_start_investing.jpg

One would have to think first what wrong really means to them, and we find that at most times it’s characterized by what our societies deem and perceive as being wrong.

The wrong things are the mistakes we make as we grow up in life, the ones that either make us or break us; depending on the situation itself and how we respond to it. We live in a world where societies have their own elements of the “wrong” with perceptions and stereotypes that form part of the norms and values of the society.

Being afraid comes with all the inner thought about what people are going to say about what we do, what our family’s reaction will be and how they are going to be implicated in all that we do.

It is not about being afraid because we don’t want to do the wrong things, but it is our conscience that makes us think of the next person and our reputation thereafter. Opportunities may be lost, but at the end of the day it all comes to thinking about things that will build and groom us before we do anything.

Music and Discipline

Some would wonder why choral music is always associated with discipline, and why in most instances it’s always said that choral music is the most that teaches discipline.

I have come to understand that the reason for discipline to go along with choral music is because choristers should not speak over their voices; they should keep to themselves and give other people a chance to talk and respond as well.

It is in this stage that people are taught to respect one another as music as well is about respecting the music of the person you are about to render, and I think to myself if everyone in the world was a choral music chorister or singer; then we would have a peaceful world where everyone thought of the next person before they say something and much respect was paid to everyone irrespective of age and gender.

Fish Falling From The Sky

Photograph taken from: http://www.cryptomundo.com/wp-content/uploads/FishFall.jpg

As I sit in front of my computer, I think to myself what Cape Town would ever be like if fish would fall from the sky?

We have such a beautiful city, and the environment is so welcoming and the people would just keep suprising you with the craziness they get up to. What would we then do when all o a sudden we see fish falling from the sky instead of the refreshing and calming rain?

The thing that beats me the most is the aftermath of the raining fish, as much as it’s smell is unbearable when it’s still alive; what more would it be like when it’s dead? I do believe it would be breakfast, lunch and supper to others; but for all the time it’s going to come to an end and start having funny smells.

I do not wish that we have fish fall from the sky in the mother city; otherwise it would be goodbye beauty and hello to something else I can’t even describe.

Acceptance

Photgraph taken from: http://www.realmagick.com/missing-loved-ones

As hard as we find it to believe certain things have happened to us, only time and reality push us to the edge of coming to realise that things have happened, and there is no way that one can actually go back and freeze time and change events that took place.

It may be death, which is hard to swallow; but no matter how much we try to convince ourselves that it hasn’t happened; only time will tell that it seriously has. There are things that we do not want to come to terms with, which of course include death, heartbreak, and even losing a job; but as much as we do not want to deal with them, reality will deal with us.

Acceptance may be a big word to use in my vocabulary, but we have to accept the things that we have and cannot change, and carry on rebuilding and developing ourselves to overcome certain aspects of life that may come our way, irrespective of changes that we
may have to enforce.

LOSS: The scariest moment

Photograph taken from: http://b4tea.com/uncategorized/irrational-fear-of-losing-loved-ones/

As one takes on the journey of life, it is well guaranteed that we are all not going to live forever, and we all know that it is the way it is and was meant to be.

As I grew up, I knew that people die and thought after a certain period of time they will come back to life and live happy lives with us again.

Many people have passed on, but not even a single one has come back from the dead and lived happily ever after. It is all the imaginary worlds that we live in that makes us so scared to come to terms with loss, and once it hits home one feels that all is shattered and still.

We are so scared to lose our loved ones as we are already filled with so many thoughts like who are we going to laugh with the same way we laughed with our loved ones, who will make us that cup of hot chocolate the same way they used to make it for us.

It’s the events that come with loss that scare us the most and the fact that we are never going to
see them again.

What is the colour of the wind?

Photograph taken from: http://painting.about.com/od/submissiongallery/ig/Painting-Project-Fauvist/pp8-pmehta.htm

It may blow you away or cool you down, but the mystery remains; what colour is it. Many have their own interpretations and opinions as to what the colour of the wind is, but I say it’s colourless and only forms colour with the sand and make up dust.

One only wonders that if it brings so much calm at times as it swiftly cools you down, why is it that we cannot see its colour; as beautiful as it sounds why is it that the beauty is not seen but heard?

Not everything that possesses beautiful sounds may be seen, therefore this takes us back to the previous statement that he wind is colourless, with beautiful sounds and only forms colour when there is sand and make up a dusty brown wind.
