LOSS: The scariest moment

Photograph taken from: http://b4tea.com/uncategorized/irrational-fear-of-losing-loved-ones/

As one takes on the journey of life, it is well guaranteed that we are all not going to live forever, and we all know that it is the way it is and was meant to be.

As I grew up, I knew that people die and thought after a certain period of time they will come back to life and live happy lives with us again.

Many people have passed on, but not even a single one has come back from the dead and lived happily ever after. It is all the imaginary worlds that we live in that makes us so scared to come to terms with loss, and once it hits home one feels that all is shattered and still.

We are so scared to lose our loved ones as we are already filled with so many thoughts like who are we going to laugh with the same way we laughed with our loved ones, who will make us that cup of hot chocolate the same way they used to make it for us.

It’s the events that come with loss that scare us the most and the fact that we are never going to
see them again.

  1. I agree. The Bible says: "To live is Christ, to die is gain."
Death might be a beautiful thing for those transitioning to the next life, but for those left behind (to deal with unanswered questions, not-enough-memories and surges of anger) it is a very painful experience.
We can only trust and hope that the pain will subside, and we will focus on the beautiful memories shared, rather the one memory of death. This of course, will take TIME.

  2. If only there was a lke button would have liked your comment, unfortunately there isn't. It's so true what you say Thandi, all that happens leaves one with sao many unanswered questions. I remember when my aunt passed away, my eldest aunt asked so many questions that we all had no answers to. All time will give her answers to that.
