Always wondered why so many communities make so much progress, whereas in other parts of the country they seem to be in standstill? I’ve always had the same question myself until I saw what happens when communities stand together and share their ideas and voices for the right cause.

It all started as a dream that everybody had, with everyone living in their fantasy world about what they would like to see happening in their community and town. Then, it may have seemed like a dream that will never come true; but today the community of Colesberg is nearer to having their dream become a reality.

It only took the people of this community unity and one voice to their dream nearer to reality, and the leaders listening to them and being their voices to those superior in order for them to be heard.

When people stand together with the same values and sentiments, a lot is highly going to be achieved. It may take years for dreams to become reality, for they will bring about change that will benefit those against them.

  1. You know this whole thing of the University of Northern Cape started very small..i have to admit i also found the whole idea ridiculous at first.. Never thought it would get this far..you this morning i got a call from a friend back in Durban telling me he just saw on the news about this company. which proves what you mentioned above "When people stand together with the same values and sentiments, a lot is highly going to be achieved.". The unity and support on the company is incredible indeed... We really need the university...think of all the benefits we could gain as the community, province and the country as a whole: increase in the level of literacy, slight increase in economy, job opportunities etc... I hope and pray that we(the community), succeed with the campaign.. Who knows you might get a job at home, as a cleaner of course lorl :).

    1. Thank you for your comment, Silindo...if we as communities really want such initiatives to take place unity is all that we need in fighting for what we believe in.

  2. Such initiatives are the ONLY way to educate a country as vast as ours. The funding for such initiatives are sometimes major stumbling blocks because donors/ sponsors ONLY wish to know what they can get out (in terms of money) and do not necessarily see the value or impact that they can make.

    1. That is so true, Niven and would really like to believe that there is a lot that they would get back out of this initiative.

  4. Positive change starts small but it always leads to success through determination and hard work. Such initiatives show how if we choose to contribute positively to society, it can benefit our communities and inevitably our country.

But these initiatives can only be successful if we all share the same principles.

    1. very true, Thandi...same values and principles always do get positive results if used for a greater and positive cause, that will later benefit the society more productively.
